“This is the Sea 5” has shipped!
I never seem to learn that no matter how prepared I think I am – the weeks preceding a DVD launch are hectic!
The good news is that “This is the Sea 5” is now shipping – all pre-orders were sent a few days in advance of the release date to try to get them there for 8th – or very soon after if the postal service is slow. Shops that pre-ordered should have them on their shelves as well.
I’m now in Chicago staying with the Bloyd-Peskins, on route to Canoecopia where “This is the Sea 5” is launched tomorrow. I’m slightly nervous to have lots of people suddenly watch the 8 films on the DVD, after so long of just talking about them. I really hope they live up to the hype! I’m also excited to see some old friends & feel the buzz of the world’s largest paddlesports show.
There’s already been quite a bit of publicity around the DVD including this interview with me on the ‘Canoe & Kayak magazine‘ website & another chat with the lovely BP family here.
The shops & venues where I am presenting ‘This is the Sea 5’ have created posters for the events which have been circulating on facebook. I’ll be in Detroit – Portland (Oregon), Seattle, Rochester (NY), Toronto, Ottawa, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island and New Jersey – so if you live close enough to any of those then please check out the details.
If you order a ‘This is the Sea 5’ from the UK/ Europe/ Australasia store then you will receive a DVD without any plastic cello-wrap on it. Please be assured that you are receiving a brand new DVD but I had some made without this wrapping on because I feel strongly that it’s a shame to wrap something in plastic only to have that wrapper thrown away before use. I’d love to eliminate wrapping from all my DVDs but understandably most shops want a cello-wrapped DVDs so customers know that they are buying a new product. But every bit helps.
